The Axiom of Scale-Dependent Viability: A Foundational Principle for Epistemological Limits

This paper presents the Axiom of Scale-Dependent Viability (ASDV), a proposed foundational principle stating that all solutions exist within scale-bounded viability domains whose transition boundaries cannot be specified exactly ex-ante. I demonstrate that major limit theorems across disparate domains—including Gödel's incompleteness theorems, Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, and computational complexity bounds—emerge as special cases of this single principle. The Axiom provides a unified framework for understanding fundamental limits on predictability, provability, and completeness across all domains of inquiry. I establish explicit falsification conditions and derive immediate implications for epistemology, methodology, and strategic planning.
