Isolation Tourism as a Modern Trend in Global Tourism: An Analytical Study of Tourist Destinations and Accommodation Experiences in Egypt
This study investigates Isolation Tourism as an emerging global trend that gained significant attention after the COVID-19 pandemic. The research examines Egypt`s potential or developing this tourism pattern by assessing tourist motivations, expert perspectives, and the operational reality within hotels and tourism companies. Three structured questionnaires were administered to 100 tourists, 100 experts, and 100 employees in hotels and travel agencies. Data were analyzed using a five-point Likert scale. Supported by descriptive statistics (means, standard deviations. And coefficients of variation), along with qualitative interpretation. The results show that tourists strongly seek quiet, privacy, natural purity, and psychological restoration, whereas experts and employees agree that weak marketing, insufficient infrastructure, and lack of trained staff are major barriers to developing this niche. All groups emphasized that Egypt possesses strong natural assets suitable for isolation tourism but remains underutilized due to gaps in infrastructure and service quality. The study concludes that isolation tourism represents a promising opportunity for Egypt to expand sustainable tourism offerings, Key recommendations include improving infrastructure in remote destinations, enhancing promotional campaigns, providing specialized staff training, and integrating digital tools such as VR-based marketing to attract new market segments.
