Architextiles: An Approach to Innovative Educational Spaces in Egypt
The concept of "architextiles" in educational spaces, which emphasizes the fusion of architectural features with textile design to promote learning environments. Architextiles improve educational principles' visual appeal, acoustics, and practicality by fusing the properties of textiles with architectural principles. This study explores the structure, the qualities of the materials, the historical background and development of textile use in architecture, and case studies of successful architextile implementations. The materials' effects on spatial dynamics, their ability to promote interactive learning, and their potential for creating adaptable, flexible spaces are all significant aspects. In Egypt, the textile architecture has been developed in the last years, but it still has limited applications in educational spaces according to financial and cultural reasons. The study methods follow a qualitative and quantitative approach. The findings suggest that thoughtful integration of textiles in educational design can significantly influence the effectiveness of teaching and learning processes, promoting well-being and collaboration among users. Architextiles represent an innovative approach to redefining educational spaces, aligning with contemporary pedagogical theories that emphasize the importance of the learning environment in shaping educational outcomes. Further research and development in this field could lead to more sustainable, adaptable, and user-centered educational facilities.
