Berlin Tennis Gallery Project Paper
The Berlin Tennis Gallery is a digital research platform dedicated to the historical study of tennis and its precursor games. It combines object-based research, historical analysis, and digital dissemination to document the cultural, social, and technological development of racket sports from the Middle Ages to the present. The platform functions as both a research environment and a public facing archive, publishing curated studies of historically significant artefacts alongside scholarly narratives. This paper outlines the conceptual framework, methodological approach, and scholarly objectives of the Berlin Tennis Gallery as an open, citable research infrastructure.
