A Brief History of Traditional Indian Medicine; in Particular, Yoga and Siddha System of Medicine: Part 3B – Frontiers of Human Physiology and ‘Siddhis’ Unlocked by Yogis
Abstract A brief history of Traditional Indian Medicine; in particular, Yoga and Siddha System of Medicine is presented as a four-part series including Part 1 – WHY Indian medicos need to know of the rich medical heritage of Bharat; an eye-opener, Part 2 – Evidence based Ancient History of India that is Bharat, revisited, Part 3A – A brief on the knowledge level of ancient India and knowledge codified under Yoga , pertaining to optimum health and maximising human potential, Part 3B – Frontiers of human physiology and ‘ Siddhis ’ unlocked by Yogis , and Part 4-A brief on the Siddha system of medicine, including their knowledge level and the Siddha contribution to medical education in the ancient world. This Part 3B shares meticulously documented frontiers of human physiology unlocked by Yogis , which, however, were NOT published by medical journals, both in the West and in India; and discusses possible biases that make ‘academic men of scientific temper’ shy away from the truth. It also covers the Yoga Siddhis (higher perception and psychomotor abilities attainable in the course of Yoga ), described as an experiential reality by the ancients of Bharat, currently being seriously investigated by Western researchers, in the light of newer advances in quantum physics.
