Aim: This study was conducted to evaluate oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) among a group of elderly people living in an elderly home in Mansoura city. Material and methods: Total of 56 subjects of both sexes aged over 65 were interviewed to evaluate their OHRQoL. Geriatric Oral Health Assessment Index (GOHAI) and Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14) indices were used. They were clinically examined to record dental caries, the number of remaining teeth, gingival condition, oral hygiene, teeth mobility, and the salivary flow rate, in addition to the presence of any systemic diseases. Results: Evaluating OHRQoL among the geriatric population revealed that GOHAI index had relatively higher scores in two items; the functional limitations, and psychological impact, while OHIP-14 provided higher scores regarding pain and discomfort and behavioral impacts. Both indices had significant correlation with the oral health status. Conclusion: Both indices provided comparable results regarding the OHRQoL. They both significantly correlated to the oral health status.
