Hydrothermally Synthesized CoNiO 2 /PANI Composite Electrodes for High‐Performance Supercapacitors

ABSTRACT The global energy issue can be ascribed to the swift advancement of industry. It is crucial to focus on the development of independent high‐capacity battery systems that can efficiently store of eco‐friendly energy sources. CoNiO 2 has attracted considerable attention as an electrode sample owing to its exceptional specific capacitance, non‐toxic nature and earth abundant. However, its electrochemical effectiveness is limited via sluggish ion transport and aggregation of particles, to overcome these, we incorporate polyaniline (PANI) into pure CoNiO 2 . In this framework, straightforward hydrothermal approach was chosen to produce polymer‐dependent composite (CoNiO 2 /PANI), which displayed outstanding characteristics, including larger surface area (SA) and considerably enhanced electrical efficiency. The synthesized substance exhibits ideal specific capacitance ( C s )of 1321.43 F/g, which is higher than pristine CoNiO 2 (808.51 F/g) at current density ( C d = 1 A/g). As‐fabricated material suggested substantial energy density ( E d = 32.3 Wh/kg) along with power density ( P d = 210 W/kg), correspondingly. Moreover, produced CoNiO 2 /PANI composite indicates larger electrochemical active SA (ECSA = 537.5 cm 2 ) with extensive long‐term stability across 50 h. These ideal results present interesting confirmation that metal oxides integrated into PANI can be effectively applied as alternative contacts in supercapacitor applications.
