Injectable Thermosensitive Hydrogel Loaded With Selenium Nanoparticles: A Promising Platform for Targeted Antioxidation Therapy
ABSTRACT In the current field of medical research, oxidative stress‐induced damage to the body has become a significant contributor to the development of many diseases and has garnered extensive attention from the academic community. Reactive oxygen species (ROS), as key mediators in the process of oxidative stress, can cause severe damage to body tissues when their excessive accumulation occurs. Therefore, exploring efficient antioxidant strategies has become an urgent task in medical and scientific research. Currently, numerous. Studies have shown that selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) can efficiently scavenge excessive ROS in the body, demonstrating great application potential in the field of antioxidant therapy. At the same time, the in situ thermosensitive hydrogel drug delivery system has gradually occupied an important position in the field of drug delivery due to its thermosensitivity and injectability. Based on the above research results, we have developed an innovative in situ injectable thermosensitive hydrogel system—F127/HA‐SeNPs. This system combines F127 and hyaluronic acid as stable and efficient carriers, successfully loading SeNPs with strong antioxidant efficacy. This hydrogel exhibits thermosensitivity, injectability, adhesiveness, excellent biocompatibility, and antioxidant properties. Most importantly, relying on the loaded SeNPs, this hydrogel system exhibits a powerful and continuously stable ROS scavenging ability, effectively protecting cells from oxidative stress damage and improving mitochondrial dysfunction, thereby providing a practical and highly promising treatment solution for oxidative stress‐related diseases. Its material properties and functional mechanisms endow it with good application value and development prospects during the process of disease intervention.
