Commentary on: Update of the international multidisciplinary classification of the interstitial pneumonias: an ERS/ATS statement
<title>Extract</title> The updated European Respiratory Society/American Thoracic Society classification of the interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) represents a major effort to harmonise idiopathic and secondary disorders under a unified framework [1]. A unified modern approach to the diagnosis and classification of ILD is welcome. Nevertheless, I wish to highlight several areas which I think were missed opportunities for improvement.
