認識的モダリティに対するゲーム型アプローチの調査 : 予備的研究

This paper presents the findings in the third phase of a longitudinal project that explores the use of logic games in English as a pedagogic tool to develop EFL learners’ epistemic modality. A pilot study(n = 4)was conducted to investigate the research question: How do logic games influence epistemic modality and inferential skills? A mixed-methods design was conducted that combined pre-post quantitative testing with thematic analysis on semi structured interviews. Results indicated some linguistic development, with statistically significant gains in reductive and deductive forms. However, most developments did not reach statistical significance. Thematic analysis revealed three themes: inference development, self-reflection, and intrinsic motivation. However, while the present study uncovered some caveats, large-scale testing is recommended.
