Performance optimization of aeroengine piping system: State of the art and challenges

Performance characterization and optimization of aeroengine piping systems are critical for ensuring high-reliability operation. The inherent structural complexity of piping systems, combined with excitation forces from non-uniform flow fields, induces structural vibrations. These vibrations precipitate loosening and wear at connection interfaces, ultimately compromising the performance and stability of external piping structure. This work reviews the methods for characterizing the performance of external piping, evaluating and predicting the life of piping and connection structures, and optimizing the layout and structure of external piping. Based on the investigation, the challenges and future development directions of piping design are pointed. The effort of the work is to summarize the aeroengine external piping systems investigation and to provide guidance for further studies, which holds significant engineering application value and scientific research significance.
