Serum procalcitonin as a predictor of intravenous immunoglobulin resistance and coronary artery lesions in Kawasaki disease

Serum PCT is a useful biomarker for predicting resistance to IVIG treatment in KD. However, its utility for predicting coronary artery lesions is limited. Further multicenter studies are needed to validate these findings and standardize methodologies for clinical application.
