Comparison of Open-Book and Closed-Book Examinations and Nursing Students’ Perceptions of Open-Book Examination
The study recommends offering an OBE as an option for formative assessment, in addition to a CBE. As students are encouraged to use classroom notes and textbooks while answering the questions, the "reasoning" rather than recalling the facts could be emphasized. The OBE enhances the learning environment and helps students understand and respond to questions more effectively.
