Universal Heisenberg uncertainty relations for all massless particles
Abstract We derive the uncertainty relations between position and momentum (or wavector) in a uniform way for all massless particles. As expected, the lower bound <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" overflow="scroll"> <mml:mrow> <mml:msub> <mml:mi>γ</mml:mi> <mml:mrow> <mml:mtext>min</mml:mtext> </mml:mrow> </mml:msub> <mml:mo>=</mml:mo> <mml:mo stretchy="false">(</mml:mo> <mml:mn>1</mml:mn> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> <mml:msqrt> <mml:mn>1</mml:mn> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo>/</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> <mml:mn>4</mml:mn> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> <mml:mn>2</mml:mn> <mml:mi>h</mml:mi> </mml:msqrt> <mml:mo stretchy="false">)</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> in the uncertainty relation grows with the particle’s helicity h .
