Zn-regulated carbon-coated Ni-based carbides for promoting hydrogenation of ethyl levulinate

The phase of nickel-based catalysts is controlled by adjusting Zn content. Ni 3 Zn 1 @C achieved 93.9% conversion of ethyl levulinate, 2.4 times that of Ni@C. The carbon sites in Ni 3 ZnC 0.7 improves H 2 and substrate adsorption and activation.
