Strengthening the Core of Care: Exploring the Impact of Integrated Resilience Programs on Building Mental Health of Nurses—A Scoping Review
Nurses are the core of the healthcare system. Building the mental health of nurses is essential for achieving positive health outcomes and delivering quality health care services. This scoping review examined the impact of integrated resilience programs on nurses' mental health. A comprehensive search was conducted by two reviewers across five databases: PubMed, Web of Science Core Collection (via Web of Science), Science Direct, MEDLINE, and Scopus including studies published from January 2015 to April 2025. Guided by PRISMA-ScR guidelines and the Participant, Concept, and Context framework, 11 studies were selected, with interventions ranging from 1 day to 10 weeks, with 64% of the programs delivered face-to-face. Post-program scores improved from baseline, with some studies reporting sustained gains at 1, 3, and 6 months. The review points to positive impacts of resilience programs on nurses' mental well-being, reinforcing the need for leadership-driven, tailored strategies to advance workforce performance and patient care.
