A Case Study on the Effectiveness of an Intervention Based on the Revised Three-step Model of Couple Therapy Focusing on Changes in Marital Relationships over the Family Life Cycle
The transition from marriage to child-rearing marks a significant period of change in the family life cycle. The birth of a child necessitates couples to take on new parental roles, potentially leading to marital conflicts. This paper reports an interview based on the revised threestep model conducted with a couple who had arguments due to lifestyle changes, and the results showed an improvement in their marital relationships. We considered three points: the approach and effectiveness using the TSM-R, the usefulness of using the TSM-R in addressing marital conflicts, and the observed changes in the way the client’s thinks.
