The current study was implemented to assess the therapeutic effect of local application of estrogen and insulin in critical size bone defect in mandible of ovariectomized rats. The current study was implemented to assess the therapeutic effect of local application of estrogen and insulin in critical size bone defect in mandible of ovariectomized rats. Subject and Methods: The study employed a sample of 16 adult female albino rats. The samples were categorized into two groups. Control group (8 rats) not received treatment with empty defect. Ovariectomized group (8 rats) received Estrogen loaded on PVP carrier in the defect. Rats were sacrificed according to different time intervals (7 and 14 days) for histological, and immunohistochemical study. Results; - Ovariectomized estrogen PVP treated groups exhibited superior histological and immunohistochemical results with more healing of the defect. Conclusion: This study proved that local estrogen application can enhance bone healing in mandibular defect of OVX rats.: The study employed a sample of 16 adult female albino rats.
