An exploratory pilot evaluation of gut microbiome diversity, intestinal permeability, and systemic inflammation following personalised microbiome guided dietary recommendations

This publication presents an exploratory pilot evaluation examining changes in gut microbiome diversity, microbiome derived intestinal permeability markers, and systemic inflammation following a personalised microbiome guided dietary programme. Eighteen adults completed a six week applied dietary programme informed by shotgun metagenomic analysis. Gut microbiome diversity was assessed using the Shannon Index, intestinal permeability was estimated using a microbiome derived index, and systemic inflammation was evaluated using high sensitivity C reactive protein. Findings are reported descriptively and are intended to inform future controlled research rather than establish causal or clinical claims.
