Emergency airway management of intratracheal mass in a patient with stridor: A case report
Management of tracheal masses poses significant challenges, especially in patients with difficult airways. We report a case of a 70-year-old male with a large tracheal mass and limited neck extension who underwent successful awake tracheostomy with dexmedetomidine nebulization and resection of the mass under general anesthesia care. This case highlights the importance of careful preoperative planning and the use of awake techniques, including dexmedetomidine nebulization, in managing complex airway scenarios. We present a case where an awake tracheostomy was successfully performed to secure the airway before resecting a large tracheal mass in a patient with limited neck mobility.
