Developments Of Mathematics in Kerala During 14th to 16th Centuries (Elite Project-2024)
This dissertation investigates the mathematical advancements made in Kerala during the ancient period, particularly focusing on the contributions of the Kerala School of Mathematics from the 14th to 16th centuries. This research delves into the intellectual milieu that enabled these developments, the mathematical innovations produced by key figures like Madhava of Sangamagrama, and the school’s unique methodologies. Additionally, this study situates the Kerala School’s work within the broader global history of mathematics, exploring its influence and the reasons behind its delayed recognition in the West.
