D8.5: MYRIAD-EU Final Report: Our Journey Toward a Paradigm Shift in Multi-Hazard Risk Assessment and Management

MYRIAD-EU is a Horizon 2020 project that has a vision to catalyse the paradigm shift required to move towards a multi-risk, multi-sector, systemic approach to risk assessment and management. Its overall aim is that by the end of MYRIAD-EU policy-makers, decision-makers, and practitioners will be able to develop forward-looking disaster risk management pathways that assess trade-offs and synergies across sectors, hazards, and scales. To achieve this, MYRIAD-EU developed a harmonised framework, data resources, modelling tools, and decision-support approaches for forward-looking disaster risk management. These outputs were co-developed and tested through five Pilot case study regions (North Sea, Canary Islands, Scandinavia, Danube, Veneto), in close collaboration with stakeholders from six key sectors (Finance, Infrastructure & Transport, Food & Agriculture, Ecosystems & Forestry, Tourism, and Energy). Throughout the project, Early Career Researchers played a central role, contributing substantially to scientific innovation and project legacy. This final report synthesises the main outcomes of MYRIAD-EU, bringing together results from the core scientific work packages, insights from the Pilots and sectors, and lessons for future research and practice in managing multi-risks.
