Structural Properties of Yukawa One‐Component Plasmas Revisited

ABSTRACT Yukawa one‐component plasmas are fully described in terms of the Coulomb coupling parameter and the screening parameter . One of their remarkable properties is the existence of lines of constant effective coupling, , along which their short‐range structural properties remain practically unchanged, allowing one to determine the effective coupling strength solely from characteristic values of the pair distribution function [T. Ott et al., Phys. Plasmas 21 , 113704 (2014)]. We demonstrate that not only but both and can be inferred from structural properties by using the long‐wavelength limit of the static structure factor as an additional constraint. This allows one to fully determine the parameters of a strongly coupled Yukawa system from static two‐body correlations.
