Urogynecology in Pregnancy: Challenges and solutions
This review explores the prevalence, risk factors, and pathophysiology of urinary incontinence (UI) and pelvic organ prolapse (POP) during pregnancy and the postpartum period. It provides an overview of both non-surgical and surgical treatment strategies, emphasizing early intervention and multidisciplinary care. Key factors, including hormonal changes, delivery methods, and lifestyle habits, are discussed in relation to pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD). The manuscript highlights the importance of early diagnosis, preventive care, and rehabilitation in managing these conditions.
