The Effect of Preeclampsia on the Cell Adhesion, Migration, and Proliferation Potential of Human Umbilical Cord-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells
The study concludes that MSCs derived from preeclampsia cord show decreased adhesion, migration, and proliferation capabilities compared to normal hUC-MSCs. These findings show that pregnancy complications can influence the biological properties of perinatal stem cells. However, further research is necessary to investigate the underlying mechanisms via which preeclampsia affects the proliferative potential of stem cells, and to identify strategies to increase the proliferation rates of these cells.
