Development Trends and Application Cases of Unmanned Drilling and Explosive-Charging Equipment by Global Manufacturers

This study reviews the technological development trends of unmanned drilling and explosive-charging equipment from major global manufacturers and summarizes representative field-deployment cases.Leading manufacturers are introducing teleoperated and increasingly autonomous drilling rigs and explosive-charging vehicles to keep workers away from hazardous zones. These systems integrate multiple sensors, including GNSS, LiDAR, and 3D scanners, to improve positioning accuracy, operational precision, and safety. The reported deployments indicate that such advances enable tighter drilling control, leading to improved fragmentation quality and productivity, while also contributing to reduced operating costs. These findings provide technical and operational insights for the future implementation of fully autonomous drilling and charging systems in smart-mining operations.
