MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMAL DG PLACEMENT AND SIZING IN DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS USING LSF-MALO: A STUDY ON VARIOUS DG CONFIGURATIONS AND LOAD
This study investigates the optimization of Distributed Generation (DG) placement and sizing in power distribution systems using the Loss Sensitivity Factor-Mutated Ant Lion Optimizer (LSF-MALO) algorithm. The goal is to minimize real power losses, enhance voltage stability, and reduce economic losses by strategically deploying DG units, such as photovoltaic (PV), diesel, and wind turbines, in distribution networks. The LSF-MALO algorithm’s effectiveness is evaluated using the IEEE 69-bus system, under varying load scenarios and DG configurations. The results are compared with other optimization methods (LSF-Analytical, EP, and MALO), showing that LSF-MALO consistently outperforms them, particularly in multi-type DG configurations like PV-Diesel-Wind and PV-PV-Wind. The findings demonstrate that LSF-MALO not only achieves significant reductions in power losses and improvements in voltage profiles but also provides substantial cost savings, highlighting its potential for improving the efficiency and sustainability of modern power distribution systems. The study underscores the importance of LSF-MALO as a robust tool for optimizing DG integration in the context of decentralized, eco-friendly energy systems.
