Hydroclimatic variability in the middle Sebou, case of the Azib Sultan station, Morocco
In the context of hydroclimate variability in the Middle Sebou watershed, the Azib Sultan station receives rainfall ranging from 150 mm to 984 mm. The region experiences the highest proportion of precipitation during the rainy period between October and April, with an average ranging from 51 mm to 78 mm. Conversely, in other months, the recorded percentages are lower, with rainfall ranging from 1 mm to 32 mm. This close relationship between rainfall patterns is a key focus of our study. Through this analytical study, we aim to elucidate the state of rainfall conditions and water resources, particularly within the Bouchabel Valley and the Mex Valley. To achieve this, we conducted an analysis based on hydro-climatic data available at the Azib Sultan station spanning the period 1963-2015. Our analysis includes annual, quarterly, monthly, and daily scales, incorporating public administration data, field observations, population surveys, and form utilization. Furthermore, we explore the temporal and spatial variance of water resources resulting from climate variability during the study period.
