Engineering Optical and Mirror Bi-stability Mechanically
We present a theoretical investigation of hybrid nano-electro-optomechanical bistable behavior in a modulated nano-transducer system. The setup comprises a Fabry-Pérot cavity driven by a strong pump laser and a weak probe field, giving rise to radiation pressure induced optomechanical coupling in the presence of tunable Coulomb interaction between mechanical elements in anano-electro-opto-mechanical system (NEOMS). The interplay of these couplings introduces strong nonlinearities that yield optical bistability in the intracavity photon population and mechanical bistability in the steady-state mirror positions. The system maintains coherence by effectively minimizing environmental noise. Furthermore, we show that external modulating fields applied to themovable mirrors enable precise control over both optical and mechanical bistability. These findings offer promising prospects for designing tunable electroopto-mechanical switches and optical transistors, as well as for manipulating the frequencies and group velocity of light pulses in applications relevant to quantum information processing (QIP).
