DEPRECATED VERSION - PLEASE USE VER 4.0:The Crust-Fracturing Antipodal Bullet (CFAB) Theory: A Comprehensive Explanation of Impact-Triggered Antipodal Volcanism and Mass Extinctions

DEPRECATED VERSION - PLEASE USE VER 4.0: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18204600 THIS IS A OUTDATED VERSION. The Crust-Fracturing Antipodal Bullet (CFAB) Theory proposes that large cosmic impactors with metallic cores can completely penetrate Earth, triggering massive volcanism at antipodal or near-antipodal locations. This mechanism unifies three previously separate phenomena: major impact events, Large Igneous Provinces (flood basalt volcanism), and mass extinctions. VERSION 3.0 - This version corrects conceptual errors from previous iterations and provides refined thermodynamic analysis, improved physical modeling, and strengthened testable predictions. Key findings include:(1) Spatial and temporal correlation between Wilkes Land crater and Siberian Traps(2) Spatial and temporal correlation between Chicxulub crater and Deccan Traps (3) Physical mechanism for transporting Earth's core metals to surface (explaining Norilsk deposits)(4) Only viable mechanism for kimberlite pipe formation(5) Resolution of temporal gap between impacts and extinction events(6) Thermodynamic analysis challenging conventional "solid inner core" interpretation The theory makes specific, falsifiable predictions testable through isotopic analysis, high-resolution dating, seismic tomography, and laboratory experiments. This is Version 4.0 of the CFAB theory. Previous versions (1.0, 2.0 and 3.0) contained errors in understanding the mechanics of metallic core transit and the state of Earth's interior. These have been corrected through rigorous thermodynamic analysis. https://orcid.org/0009-0006-1089-9023. Contact: [email protected] Part of the Proyecto A.D.A.
