TNA in Psychiatry: Throughput, Incoherence, and Mental Health Stability
Psychology has developed multiple schools—behavioral, cognitive, psychodynamic, humanistic, and more—each with its own model of mental function and dysfunction. This paper proposes a TNA-based meta-framework, viewing the mind as a throughput system where mental coherence requires continuous processing (Ψ) to discharge incoming incoherence (G). Accumulated incoherence (ℵ) manifests as maladaptive behaviors, dysfunctional cognition, or emotional dysregulation. TNA offers a unifying lens to compare, integrate, and predict the outcomes of interventions from different psychological schools, highlighting how each addresses aspects of Ψ, G, and ℵ.
