The Breathing Universe: 505_Particles as Breathing Attractors of the Vacuum
This work establishes a rigorous particle ontology within the Breathing Universe Model (BUM), redefining elementary particles as dynamically stable, topologically closed attractors of a breathing vacuum rather than as fundamental point objects or fields. In BUM, the vacuum is a living, oscillatory medium governed by a time-dependent tension field H(t), whose alternating expansive and contractive phases define the conditions under which structure can persist. The paper demonstrates that particle existence requires the simultaneous satisfaction of two independent criteria: dynamical attractor stability under repeated breathing cycles, and topological closure with respect to the zero-line, the balance condition where expansive and contractive tendencies cancel. Localized vacuum excitations, termed monopoles, act as finite-volume seeds of structure, but only organized configurations that return to themselves after each full breathing cycle qualify as particles. Mass emerges as a measure of stability depth and resistance to acceleration within the breathing field, while particle generations correspond to branching attractor hierarchies within shared topological sectors. Decay processes are reinterpreted as trajectories through the attractor landscape from shallower to deeper stability basins, constrained by topology and zero-line closure rather than by interaction vertices. Neutrinos occupy a distinct, topologically trivial sector, behaving as coherence-dominant modes whose persistence is governed primarily by phase alignment rather than mass localization. The framework naturally explains confinement, the discreteness and finiteness of the particle spectrum, neutrino oscillations, and the stability of terminal particles such as the electron, without introducing new forces or symmetries. By formalizing particles as survivable patterns in a breathing vacuum, this paper provides a coherent foundation for future numerical enumeration, quantitative mass extraction, and experimental testing within the Breathing Universe Model.
