What Did I Learn from CIDSCON 2025 – Part I

Abstract CIDSCON 2025 brought together some of the sharpest minds in Infectious Diseases, Critical Care, Microbiology, and Public Health to address problems that continue to challenge clinicians across India and beyond. Given the rapid evolution of pathogens, diagnostics, therapeutics, and stewardship strategies, it became essential to capture the key messages, debates, clinical pearls, and evidence updates presented during the conference in a structured and accessible format. The purpose of compiling these session summaries was two-fold: first, to convert high-impact academic discussions into practical, point-of-care learnings for fellows, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals. Second, to serve as a long-term academic resource that preserves the insights, innovations, and consensus statements shared by experts during CIDSCON 2025. Each summary distills the core concepts of the talks—clinical reasoning, diagnostic challenges, management algorithms, stewardship perspectives, and the speaker’s unique take-home messages. This document ensures that the intellectual contributions of the faculty do not remain confined to a single conference hall or a single day, but continue to guide learners and practitioners throughout the year. In an era where knowledge overload is real and evidence changes fast, these curated summaries offer clarity. They provide busy clinicians with a concise, high-quality reference that highlights what truly matters: improving patient outcomes, strengthening antimicrobial stewardship, and advancing the science and practice of Infectious Diseases. This project is a collective effort, distilled by rapporteurs—each an outstanding infectious diseases physician—to preserve, disseminate, and honor the academic depth of CIDSCON 2025, while ensuring the learning reaches every corner it needs to.
