Summary of Findings: Evidence-Based Mental Health Practices for Higher Education Institutions

This Mobile Minds in Motion (MMM) project report explores the mental health and well-being of Erasmus+ students navigating the challenges of studying abroad. While mobility is often celebrated as a transformative experience, the report highlights the specific stressors students face, from academic and social pressures to feelings of loneliness and anxiety. Drawing on both a comprehensive review of existing literature and empirical data from surveys and focus groups, it maps the lived experiences of mobile students, showing both vulnerabilities and moments of resilience and growth. Building on these insights, the report offers practical guidelines and recommendations for students, psychologists, mobility coordinators, higher education administrators, and policy-makers, aiming to create supportive, inclusive, and proactive environments. The Mobile Minds in Motion project strives to provide students on mobility and staff with research-backed tools, resources and support networks needed to ensure that the Erasmus experience remains a rewarding and healthy experience
