The Endurance of Constitutional Democracy, and the Possibilities and Limits of Constitutional Design, Review of Tom Gerald Daly and Dinesha Samararatne;
One of the biggest issues today in the field of comparative constitutional law is the establishment, consolidation, maintenance, and defense of constitutional democracy. The edited volume by Professor Tom Daly and Professor Dinesha Samararatne—Democratic Consolidation and Constitutional Endurance in Asia and Africa: Comparing Uneven Pathways—addresses this significant issue. They do so from a novel standpoint through a collaborative comparison and close analysis of jurisdictions across Asia and Africa, two regions of the world that have rarely been compared in constitutional scholarship. The volume builds upon their combined expertise developed through previous work on democratic decay, constitution making, and constitutionalism.
