Racionalidades (?) do Investimento Financeiro do Estado na Rede Nacional de Cuidados Continuados Integrados | Rationalities (?) of the State’s Financial Investment in the National Network of Integrated Continuing Care

This article analyzes data relating to the State’s contracting with private entities and the social sector for vacancies in the Portuguese long term care network for the three-year period 2023-2025. Based on this information and in light of concepts of public fund management, health contracting and the municipalization of health care, we sought, through statistical analyses, to find evidence that would support the existence of a rationale for efficiency and economy in the State’s investment options in the Portuguese long term care network vacancies.
