An annotated checklist of the fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) of Europe
A spreadsheet, originally compiled for the online database Fauna Europaea in 2004, was corrected and updated using critically revised data from published articles, books, and online sources (iNaturalist, Diptera.Info, UkrBIN) before September 30, 2025. This served as the source for a new checklist of the family Tephritidae (Diptera) for Europe, which includes 271 species (267 extant and 3 fossil) across 66 genera (65 extant and 1 fossil). The list provides the distribution by country and region, as well as the most important references for species records from European countries..Insecta, Diptera, Tephritidae, fruit flies, checklist, Europe, Distribution.
