Call for Abstracts: Innovations in Sustainable Constitutionalism in an Age of Extremes

Constitutional Studies is convening a workshop at the International Association of Constitutional Law's 2026 World Congress of Constitutional Law to explore innovative constitutional strategies in today's age of extremes. Our workshop on “Innovations in Sustainable Constitutionalism in an Age of Extremes” examines constitutional approaches that seek to build resilient constitutional democracies amid the growing extremes these systems face. The workshop aims to share and learn from these innovations in diverse regions and contexts. We invite abstracts for presentations or papers exploring how countries are responding to unique and shared extremes, how constitutions can sustainably manage such extremes that have become the norm, how to constrain the extreme exercise of political power, how to foster constructive dialogue on constitutional reform or government policymaking, and related topics.
