Emergence and molecular characterization of bovine papular stomatitis virus in Chinese cattle
• BPSV, IDV, BRAV, and RVA were identified in samples from calves exhibiting fever, diarrhea, and skin lesions through virome profiling. • This study reports that the near-complete genome of BPSV (strain BPSV/HBSJZ/CHN/2024) from China was highly identical to the Iran strain. • Chinese BPSV strains clustered into two distinct phylogenetic clades, suggesting multiple independent introduction events.
