Code to Care: How Artificial Intelligence Is Rewriting the Geography of Global Healthcare Access

This research explores the growing role of artificial intelligence in transforming healthcare delivery and expanding global access to medical services. The study presents a methodological review of AI applications across diagnostics, telemedicine, wearable based monitoring, rural screening programs, and chronic disease management. By comparing traditional in person care models with AI enabled systems, the paper highlights improvements in diagnostic accuracy, cost efficiency, medication adherence, and reduction in emergency hospital admissions. The research integrates real world case studies from diverse healthcare settings, including low and middle income regions and technologically advanced systems, to demonstrate how artificial intelligence supports clinicians and community health workers while extending care to underserved populations. Ethical considerations, regulatory challenges, and data privacy concerns are also examined to provide a balanced perspective on AI adoption in healthcare. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of responsible and equitable deployment of artificial intelligence to improve healthcare accessibility and outcomes worldwide.
