Digital Transformation of Educational Management: Challenges and Opportunities

Amid the global digital transformation wave, digital technologies represented by big data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things are reshaping the educational management ecosystem with unprecedented breadth and depth. This transformation transcends mere technological upgrades, marking a systemic shift that touches upon the core elements, value logic, and organizational forms of educational management. It not only profoundly alters traditional management objects, processes, and models, but also demonstrates disruptive potential in enhancing efficiency, optimizing decision-making, and innovating services. As a pivotal engine, it drives the modernization of educational governance and achieves high-quality development in education. This study transcends instrumentalist perspectives to systematically analyze structural transformations arising from the deep integration of digital technologies and educational management. The paper first establishes a multidimensional analytical framework encompassing data-driven management objects, intelligent processes, evidence-based decision-making, networked organizational structures, and human-centered service models, thereby revealing the multifaceted nature of this transformation. Subsequently, it directly addresses deep-seated contradictions and obstacles exposed during the transition, including strategic cognitive biases leading to "hardware-heavy, software-light" dilemmas, data silos and security ethical risks, organizational inertia resistance and digital competency gaps, as well as core challenges such as sustainable investment and the absence of scientific evaluation systems. Simultaneously, the study explores strategic opportunities arising from this transformation, elucidating its broad prospects in enhancing governance effectiveness, reshaping personalized service systems, promoting educational equity and inclusivity, stimulating ecological innovation vitality, and empowering reforms in educational evaluation.
