Yang-Mills Instantons on Asymptotically Locally Euclidean 8-Manifolds: A Motivic Approach to Spin(7) Holonomy

Mathematical Applications of Science Fiction We present a rigorous construction of the moduli spaceof Yang-Mills instantons on 8-dimensional manifolds pos-sessing Asymptotically Locally Euclidean (ALE) geometryand Spin(7) holonomy. By generalizing the self-dualityequations via the Cayley 4-form Φ, we define a specificclass of Spin(7)-instantons satisfying ∗(FA ∧ Φ) = −FA.We analyze the deformation complex of these instantonsusing the Atiyah-Singer index theorem twisted by the hyper-Kähler structure of the ALE resolution. We prove that fora generic perturbation of the metric, the moduli space is asmooth manifold of dimension determined by the secondand fourth Chern classes and the boundary Eta invariant.Furthermore, we establish a correspondence between theseinstantons and stable reflexive sheaves on the associatedderived stack, utilizing recent advances in motivic integra-tion to bound the non-compactness arising from bubblingphenomena.
