Transfinite Ergodicity in Non-Archimedean Dynamical Systems: A Proof of the Collatz Conjecture
Mathematical Applications of Science Fiction We present a rigorous resolution to the Collatz Conjecture(the 3x + 1 problem) by embedding the discrete dynamicalsystem into the complete metric space of 2-adic integers,Z2. By constructing a continuous extension of the Collatzoperator T : Z2 → Z2, we define a transfinite Lyapunovfunction L : Z2 → ω1 mapping trajectories to countableordinals. We demonstrate that the system exhibits globalhyperbolic contraction on the non-trivial cosets of Z2 undera renormalized measure. Through the application of thePax-Temporal Ergodic Theorem, we prove that the basin ofattraction for the trivial cycle (1, 4, 2) has full Haar measureand, critically, includes all integers N ⊂ Z2. We establisheight fundamental lemmas governing the parity vector dis-tribution and the non-existence of divergent trajectories, culminating in the Main Theorem: for all n ∈ N+, thestopping time is finite.
