Patient radiation exposure and assessment of local diagnostic reference levels during common interventional radiology procedures in a Moroccan hospital
This brief note aimed to assess patient radiation exposure and to establish local diagnostic reference levels for the most common radiological interventional procedures performed at University Hospital Centre of Marrakech. A total of 120 adult patients were included. Local diagnostic reference levels, defined as the 75th percentile of dose–area product (DAP), showed variability across procedures: lower limb arteriography with aortography (DAP = 43.2 Gy•cm²; Kair = 87.7 mGy; FT = 11.4 min; 9.9 images), pacemaker implantation (58.3 Gy•cm²; 87.4 mGy; 17.0 min; 10.1 images), and diagnostic cerebral arteriography (41.5 Gy•cm²; 59.5 mGy; 11.0 min; 9.7 images). These results provide baseline data to guide dose optimisation and support regional and national radiation protection strategies.
