The (Im)Mobility of Sub-Saharan Migrants
In the field of migration studies, researchers have probed into the factors that propel sub-Saharan migrants to change their locations and destinations. Within the North African region, these outgroups suddenly found themselves stuck owing to the restrictive migration policies. What is more, they become scattered in diasporic communities, living in penury and enduring backbreaking jobs. This paper, which is inscribed within the framework of digital archival research and build upon storytelling and purposive sampling, sheds light on the transit narratives of the sub-Saharan migrants, whose hopes and dreams have sometimes gone unfulfilled.
