The Impact of Personal Image Consulting on Self-Efficacy
This study aimed to verify the impact of participating in personal image consulting on the perceptions and self-efficacy of 12 adults. Conducted from June 1–30, 2024, the study used Delphi-derived instruments with input from five field experts. Data were collected via focus group interviews and in-depth telephone interviews. Responses were finalized through investigator triangulation, yielding consensus on four upper-level categories and thirteen lower-level categories. According to the result from the analyzed data, it was confirmed that participants recognized their objective self-image through personal image consulting, and behavioral changes occurred based on the consulting content to pursue their ideal image. When these external changes were accompanied by positive evaluations from others, participants’ perception of their self-efficacy was found to improve. The fact that some responses indicated minor changes or a lack of sustainability suggests the need for post-monitoring and coaching systems for continuous change in the future.
