Radicular Pain due to Lumbar Facet Cyst: A Novel 3 in 1 Interventional Technique
A lumbar facet cyst (LFC) is a rare but known entity which can present as radicular pain. Due to newer imaging techniques like magnetic resonance imaging, facet cysts can be picked up as an etiology for back and leg pain. Most of the time, the treatment of LFCs is restricted only to conservative modalities and surgery. This article introduces a novel 3 in 1 interventional technique for treating LFCs under fluoroscopy guidance. We present 7 such cases which we have encountered and treated with facet cyst aspiration, facet joint steroid injection, and transforaminal epidural minimally invasive pain and spine intervention.
