Giant Pulmonary Artery Aneurysm in a Child with Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension
Giant pulmonary artery aneurysms (PAAs) are rare clinical entities, typically defined as a dilation of the main PA exceeding 50 mm in diameter. They involve the expansion of all layers of the PA wall. The most common etiological factors include congenital left-to-right cardiac shunts, hypoplastic or bicuspid aortic valves, and pulmonary valvular stenosis. We report a rare case of a giant PAA arising as a complication of idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension in a child, highlighting its clinical course, diagnostic evaluation, and management.
