Activation of CO 2 and NH 3 at interface between Ni and Mg–Al mixed oxide for CH 4 synthesis

CH 4 synthesis over Mg–Al mixed oxide-supported Ni catalysts from CO 2 and NH 3 . At the Ni-support interface, isocyanate species (*NCO) are formed as an intermediate of CH 4 . Then, H 2 formed by NH 3 decomposition reacts with *NCO to form CH 4 .
