D5.6 Final Version of the Public Engagement and Training Infrastructure
EXECUTIVE SUMMARYThe ENIGMA project aims to safeguard, monitor and manage cultural heritage by integrating advanced technologies, with a particular emphasis on illicit trafficking and trading of CGs. Within this context, ENIGMA developed cohesive and complementary web-based tools useful for specific stakeholders for harnessing and preserving CH assets. As part of WP5 Integration & Testing, D5.6 logically builds on the WP5 sequence that provides a Testing and Integration Methodology (D5.1) and The Final version of the ENIGMA Platform (D5.4). D5.6 presents the final version of the Public Engagement and Training Infrastructure, building on its former version D5.5 the first version of the Public Engagement and Training Infrastructure. As a result, D5.6 provides an overview of public engagement through its training infrastructure, where it seeks to optimize stakeholder engagement through developing a clear and concise training infrastructure and manuals. D5.6 examines how the ENIGMA platform enhances user engagement through accessible data, contributing to the success of the platform, its tools, and the overallproject. D5.6 contains a brief explanatory section of what the consortium discerns as public engagement and training infrastructure as a framework for training stakeholders in using the ENIGMA platform and tools. D5.6 provides a concise overview of the tools developed by the consortium and details the training available to stakeholders and target groups (TGs) for optimal use of the ENIGMA platform. The tools consist of the 3D Reconstruction Tool, Provenance Research Tool, Crowdsourcing Tool, Web Crawler, Earth Observation Toolkit and Scenario Building Engine. Each of these holds a particular value for each stakeholder, broadly defined as LEAs, Archaeologists, and Curators. To enhance public engagement of the stakeholders, ENIGMA relies on a user-based and user-friendly semi-dynamic environment, as a virtual classroom. Within the ENIGMA virtual classroom, each stakeholder can navigate through multi-modal forms of training information (e.g., PDF manuals, video instructions, VR environment). The ENIGMA web-based platform allows for easy registration to enhance stakeholder engagement, while providing a virtual classroom to optimize learning outcomes of the tools tailored to each of the stakeholders’ requirements. The last section contains a training narrative for each tool and includes the manuals that will form part of the training infrastructure.
